Two Miserable Months and Counting...
You read that title correctly. It has now been 61 days since I brought the Colby 2.0 back to the storage lot after a camping trip to Kerrville Schreiner Park that ended on February 28th, 2020. Since that day, I have cancelled several camping trips that I had been looking forward two. Two of them were very special. First, Rachel and I were going to go to Mustang Island for three nights. Then, my trip for the 3rd Annual Birding Festival at South Llano River State Park got completely cancelled when the state parks were shut down. Before that, I was still planning to go, even though the festival was off.
Today, I finally drove over to check on the Colby 2.0. He was just standing there all alone in the middle of the lot. His usual neighbors were all gone. Other than his solitude, everything else was in good shape. I did clean the toilet and add more water to it, as it had evaporated to a very low level and left a multitude of brown rings.
I am hoping to be camping by mid May. I have a reservation for Crane's Mill CEO park at Canyon Lake. But, if the state parks open sooner and I can get into one, I will probably cancel the Crane's Mill reservation since they don't have any trails there.
Here are some photos I took today:
