Guadalupe River State Park January 2022

--------This is being dictated on my phone. We all know how wonderful that goes. Sorry in advance for any mistakes.

--------It is so nice to be camping again. I haven’t been out since late December when Rachel and I went to Blanco State Park with some friends. Anyway, this was a quick trip that was planned when I found out that my best friend/brother, Jim, would not be able to come down for his two week visit.

--------There was only one rough spot so far on the trip. I was really thirsty by the time I hit the gas station in Berghiem. I decided to pull in and get something to drink. There were two trucks already in the area where I usually pull my trailer if I’m stopping. I tried to get to that spot and the trailer tires jumped a curb. I looked in the rear-view, and saw that, if I tried to keep going, I would hit a boulder. Somehow or another, I managed to maneuver it backwards with no major problem. It did scare the hell out of me though. And people wonder why I am so reluctant to stop at gas stations when towing!

--------There were a lot of birds in the bird blind and all over the river area. I think I got a lot of good pictures. I also tried to get some good scenic pictures of the park, which I will post here when I get back to San Antonio. It is almost impossible to get anything to upload using my personal hotspot. There simply isn’t enough service out here.

--------One more thing I should say, I am leaving the trailer on the hitch. There are three reasons for that. 1) I don’t plan to go anywhere. 2) I am really lazy. 3) that way, I can’t escape the park to go find something to eat at a restaurant.

---------I am spending the evenings watching a Korean series called Kingdom about a zombie outbreak in ancient times. It is very well done. The Koreans really get the whole zombie genre.
